Its been more than two decades since this otherwise beautiful and lovely country Srilanka – being going through the menace of LTTE mercenaries and I only hope this comes to an end – sooner the better. They started their rampage and suicide attacks on the innocents way back in late 1980’s and even the former prime minister of India Mr. Rajiv Gandhi was not spared. Ever since they’ve captured the northern part of Srilanka and were literally running a parallel government. Every now and then some of their mercenaries would infiltrate the guards and does a suicide attack.
It all took a pretty bad turn when the now Prime minister of Srilanka Mr. Rajapakshe wanted to eliminate this growing menace once and for all. There has been enough innocent life’s of common Srilankan taken and he wanted it no more. The empire of LTTE is now cordoned into a few miles radius land where they have captured and kept thousands of innocent Tamil civilians.
I with all my consciousness support the motive of the Srilankan PM. Any government by all means would only wish for the well being of its own people. Even Mr. Obama has suggested that US companies should not be given tax benefits if they outsource jobs to foreign countries so that more people in US gets jobs. LTTE is never a solution for the issues of Tamil migrants in Lanka and I believe there can be better ways to solve these differences than fighting the local government. Atleast, if you feel that the place you’ve migrated to isn’t treating you well… get the hell outa there. It would make the life’s of both better.
